So you might be wondering where “Hippy Crap” came from?

One night I made “hippy” fried rice—cauliflower instead of brown rice, coconut aminos, extra veggies—and my husband (a meat-and-potatoes guy) goes, “What hippy crap is this?” 😂

The nickname stuck because that’s exactly what it is: intentional, no-BS swaps to make everyday comfort food healthier without losing the joy or flavor.

Ditch seed oils, cut sugar, load up on garlic and real ingredients—small tweaks that help with inflammation, energy, and feeling stronger in midlife.

No extremes. No guilt. Just small, intentional changes that add up.

Midlife isn’t a crisis — it’s a recalibration. After years of prioritizing family, career, and everything else, I decided it was time to prioritize my own health once perimenopause hit. Through hormone shifts, navigating to menopause, plenty of kitchen experiments and an autoimmune diagnosis, I’ve learned that feeling better doesn’t require perfection — just intention.
